Our Story & Mission

Hello, I’m Omar, a licensed speech-language pathologist and the founder of Speech Flow Therapy along with my wife, Lorena. My journey into speech therapy has been shaped by both faith, and personal experience, leading me to where I am today.

I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley, where I first discovered my passion for communication and helping others find their voice. After earning my Master’s in Communication Disorders from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, I moved to Austin, TX, got married, and began my career as a speech-language pathologist. For the next 4.5 years, I worked in public schools, providing speech therapy and evaluations for children from diverse backgrounds.

During this time, Lorena, and I felt a clear call from God—one that led us on a journey of faith, stepping into the unknown. After much prayer, we made the decision to leave our careers behind and step into full-time ministry at our church, Austin First Church. I serve as the Operations Director of our church. Lorena, previously a first-grade bilingual teacher, now serves as the Lead Teacher of our church’s private school, Hope Silo Academy.

After almost 3 years of full time ministry and going through this journey of faith, God opened an unexpected door—Speech Flow Therapy. This private practice is more than just speech therapy; it’s an opportunity to merge my passion, expertise, and faith to help individuals and families overcome communication challenges.

At Speech Flow Therapy, I integrate my clinical expertise with a compassionate, faith-based approach. Whether working with children or young adults, I believe in the power of words, the beauty of communication, and the God-given ability to grow and overcome challenges.

If you’re looking for a speech therapist who not only understands the science of communication but also approaches therapy with faith, integrity, and heart, I’d love to connect with you.

Let’s help your speech flow—together.

Why We Are Called  Speech Flow Therapy

Why We Are Called  Speech Flow Therapy *

At Speech Flow Therapy, our name isn’t just about speech—it’s about our journey and the calling that led us here.

Speech” represents our passion for helping others communicate with confidence. It’s the foundation of what we do—guiding individuals toward clearer, more natural expression.

Flow” reflects the ease and rhythm of speech we help our clients achieve, but it also holds a deeper meaning. It reminds us of our personal walk with God—learning to trust His direction, to move with His purpose, and to embrace the journey He has called us to. Just as speech should flow naturally, so should our faith.

This name is a reflection of our story —one of stepping out in faith, letting go of fear, and following the path God has placed before us. Just as He has guided our journey, we are here to help others find clarity, confidence, and connection in their own.

Our Logo

Our logo is more than just a design—it represents who we are and what we stand for.

  • The interwoven lines symbolize the connection between speech, faith, and the journey of growth.

  • The subtle arrow represents forward movement—progress in communication, faith, and purpose.

  • The hidden “S” and “F stand for Speech Flow, but also serve as a reminder of how God has directed our path.

  • The abstract figures within the design represent two people communicating, reflecting the heart of speech therapy—connection, understanding, and the power of finding one’s voice.

Just as we help speech flow naturally, we also strive to help families navigate communication with clarity and confidence, all while trusting the process—both in therapy and in life.
